Service Data

The following topics are covered by this section.

Sales Organisations

By introducing sales organisations it becomes possible to run multiple quasi-independent instances of the SBC user and subscription management in parallel. The privilege Sales Organisation Administrator is able to manage all data associated to his sales organisation.

Sales Organisations and also Sales Organisation Administrators can only be created and deleted by user with Administrator privilege.

Sales organisation "Direct" is the default sales organisation in SBC. It cannot be deleted. Initially all entities are assigned to this sales organisation.

Following figure illustrates the hierarchical structure of sales organisations and dealers within SBC. Users with privilege Administrator or Support are able to manage or view all instances. Themselves they are not related to any of those instances.

Corporate Design for Sales Organizations

It is possible for Sales Organizations to define a Customized Corporate Design so that all logged on users who belong to this SO can see the user portal in the SO specific style. Each SO can have one customized corporate design theme configured. The Corporate Design page is available via Service Data > Sales Organizations > SO Details.

Dialog will be initialized with setting "Default". By selecting "Customized" from the dropdown menu, the configuration page appears, which consistently contains the same configuration elements as already used under Settings - UI Preferences - Corporate Design.

Users who belong to a SO see the dedicated corporate design style after they have logged on to the SBC user portal. Dealer administrators who belong to a SO see the dedicated corporate design style after they logged on to the reduced SBC admin portal. SO administrators see the dedicated corporate design style after they logged on to the reduced SBC admin portal.

Customized layouts for the SBC portals users belonging to a certain Sales Organisation can be applied, through the usage of CSS code. Please find all details at UI Preferences > Corporate Design

CSS customizable boxes for the Sales Organisation Administrator portal can be accessed, in the Administrator portal, from the Edit menu > Corporate Design tab of the Service Data > Sales Organizations page.

Dealers

From business perspective Dealer is a local sales representative. Dealer in SBC is a subset of Sales Organisation. A Sales Organisation can contain multiple dealers who will sell subscriptions to their customers. Dealers have limited access to SBC features. The privilege Dealer Administrator is able to manage data associated with his Dealer.

Dealer can be created and deleted by user with Administrator and Sales Organisation Administrator privileges.

Overview page

All dealers in SBC are listed in an overview. The overview page supports all required actions like create, edit and delete to manage dealers. Search is related to the table columns Name and Sold-to Company and Sales Organisation.

Click on icon on top right of the Dealers overview page to create a new dealer and press Save & Close or Save button to save the entries to the database. The tab Sold-to Companies contains a table of companies and company-ID. It is used to assign subscriptions created outside of SBC, e.g. via Leica SAP, to the correct dealer. Without connection to a particular ERP system the table stays empty.

Delete Dealer

Deletion of dealer is supported. Deleting a dealer which is associated with users, subscriptions is not supported.

Subscriptions

Subscription is a one-to-one relation between User and Article. It allows user to access article content. Each subscription gets a unique subscription-ID.

An article can only be assigned once to a particular user.

Subscription-ID

Subscription-IDs are generated automatically by SBC. They are unique across the system. A subscription id can be used to search for a particular subscription.

Format

The format of the subscription-id is divided into three parts:

Example: LE-6M9XE9X108-1497140335

The page offers the possibility to select multiple regions, which will define the working area of the subscription owner.

As long as no regions are assigned to a subscription, customers working area is unlimited. As long as this workflow requires manual interaction by SBC operators, the customer wish to start working immediately will have priority over regional restrictions.

Subscription Renewal

Case 1: Subscription renewal in advance

Subscription_Renewal_IN_Advance.png

If the renew button is pressed before the renewal date occurs, the subscription renewal will be scheduled. This is indicated by the message "Renewal Scheduled" shown at the subscription details. When the renewal date is reached, SBC will automatically renew the subscription. The renewal date is the start date of the new subscription period.

Case 2: Subscription renewal during grace period

Subscription_Renewal_During_Grace_Period.png

If the renew button is pressed after the renewal date is lapsed but before the grace period is expired the subscription is renewed instantly. The renewal date is the start date of the new subscription period. The lapsed days of the grace period are considered for the period of the new subscription.

Grace period is usually set to 0 days. A different value is only used in particular setups where SBC is connected to the Leica enterprise resource planning system. The grace period value cannot be set in the SBC UI.

Case 3: Subscription renewal after expiration

Subscrption_Renewal_After_Expiration.png

If the renew button is pressed after the expiry date is lapsed a new subscription period starts immediately.

Group Subscriptions

A group subscription is the relation between a user group and an article. It allows all group members to access article content. It is not possible to subscribe multiple times to an article for the same user group. Each group subscription gets a unique subscription-ID.

A group subscription acts as kind of container. It is designed for the creation of a number of individual subscriptions to all members of a user group at once. The group subscription-ID identifies a group subscription and follows the same format as individual subscription-IDs. Group subscriptions of type Member are supporting all kinds of articles. Two states are supported:

Activating a group subscription automatically triggers and activates member subscription according to the number of group members. Following steps are internally executed:

Step Action
1 All group subscription details are stored to the SBC database.
2 A subscription will be created for all the members of the group.
3 If any member of the group already has an individual subscription with the same article before activation of group subscription, then no subscription is created for that member.
4 If any member of the group already has a member subscription in another group with the same article, then no subscription is created for that member in this group

Removing a user from a group with a group subscription also deletes the related member subscription.

Enterprise subscriptions (SmartNet only)

For SmartNet installations only, a particular type of subscription is supported, called Enterprise Subscription.

Enterprise Subscriptions are time-limited subscriptions with a high quota limit consumption. Along this online help page, they will be referred to with the abbreviation of “ES”. In addition to the subscription owner, assigned ES members are as well allowed to consume connection time. ES are identified by the newly introduced icon

Enterprise Subscription Owners and Consumers

ES members are called ES Consumers and they are configured by the ES owner, who is a normal SBC User with a subscription to an article marked as “Enterprise” type. When a User has a subscription to such an article, they are entitled to manage their ES through their User portal (Account Details > Subscriptions > Manage Enterprise Subscription). Managing an ES means adding, removing or editing ES Consumers. Multiple Consumers creation is also supported on the Manage Enterprise Subscription page of the owner’s user portal. Click on Export to CSV icon to export the listed Consumer information except passwords to a CSV file. The text data is exported in UTF-8 Unicode encoding and with UTF-8 ByteOrderMark prefixed in the exported file data to enable the reading softwares (like Excel) to identify the Unicode encoding.

A Consumer is defined by a username and a password which allows them to login into SBC (if SBC access is granted by the ES owner). The username must be unique, i.e. there cannot be two consumers with the same username. An E-mail address is not mandatory but can be defined for ES Consumers. Consumers will only be given access to the products contained in the ES to which they are bonded: if the ES owner has other Individual or Enterprise subscriptions to other products, an ES Consumer will be not entitled to use them. ES Consumers can also be granted access to Real Time services, if the ES Owner allows it and if required by the subscription.

When ES Consumers log in to SBC, they will see the User Profile page, where they cannot change their username nor password, but they have the chance to upload a profile picture, change the default language and enter or edit an E-mail address. The Contact page is also available for all ES Consumers, while the Shop is not. The display of other user portal pages depends on the products included in the ES the Consumer is bonded to.

In the Users > Credentials page of SBC Administrator portal, ES Consumers are identified by the newly introduced icon . If the icon is green, ES Consumer is active, which means that they are configured for both RTK and SBC access; if the icon is yellow, ES Consumer is only configured for RTK or SBC access (tooltip clarifies the situation); if the icon is red, ES Consumer is inactive (neither RTK nor SBC access).

Enterprise Subscriptions in SBC Audit Log

Actions related to ES are recorded and displayed in the Audit Log. All Audit Log entries related to ES are identified by the following icon:

The following actions are monitored in the Audit Log:

Article Details

The following article details are supported by SBC

Parameter Description
Article name Article name information shown on the user portal.
Article number Idea is to have an ID per article which clearly identifies the article. The uniqueness is not checked by SBC.
Status Please check paragraph Article States and Relation to Web Shop
In addition SBC supports the states:
Expired = subscription period is expired
Exceeded = consumption limit is exceeded
Description This information is shown on the user portal as article long description.
Promotional picture Promotional picture is shown on the user portal as article key visual.
Subscription Type

The following options are supported:

Individual: This option only allows users who subscribe to an article to use the subscription

Enterprise (SmartNet only): This option allows users who subscribe to an article to define multiple consumers for it, in addition to the user themselves. Users who subscribe to an article of type “Enterprise” are known as Enterprise Subscription owners, who have the chance to add, edit and remove Enterprise Subscription Consumers by managing the Enterprise Subscription from their User portal (Account Details > Subscriptions > Manage Enterprise Subscription). In this way, entitled Consumers can as well login into SBC and use the article to which the owner has directly subscribed.

Subscription Period Specifies the time period during which the Article can be accessed.
Subscription period can be:
  • 7 or 14 days,
  • 1, 3, 6 or 9 months,
  • 1, 2, 3 or 5 years,
  • Unlimited.
Note, that months equal to multiples of 30 days (independent of the length of the calendar month) and years equal to multiples of 365 days.
Consumption limit Specifies the limit up to which the article data can be consumed. Options are: None, RINEX, RTK (SmartNet only).
For RINEX, consumption limit is expressed in Epochs. An epoch is a certain time at which GNSS data is available and, hence, an actual observation is recorded.
For RTK, limit is expressed in Hours.
If consumption limit is set to None, features assigned to the Article can be used without limitations.
If a consumption limit is set, once the limit assigned to the article is consumed (i.e. consumption limit is reached), the status of subscription is changed to Exceeded.
Ignore quota overrun (RTK Quota)
  • Checked: The subscription should be still usable (i.e. not entering Exceeded state) even though the consumption limit is exceeded.
  • Unchecked: The subscription should not be usable anymore (i.e. entering Exceeded state) once the consumption limit is exceeded.
By default, the option "Ignore quota overrun" is unchecked. This feature is not supported in case a RINEX Quota is set.
Allow quota to overrun by one last request (RINEX Quota)
  • Checked: Allows quota to be completely used by overrunning it with one last request.
  • Unchecked: Never allows quota to be overrun.
By default, the option "Allow quota to overrun by one last request" is unchecked. This feature is not supported in case a RTK Quota is set.
Regional restriction The following options are supported.

Region: This option allows defining multiple regions, thus affecting the working area of all subscriptions using this article. Selecting this option provides a list of all regions defined in SBC. Idea is to pre-define all regions in which a user should be able to work, e.g. all federal states of a country. Marking a region enables it for selection on subscription level.

The option “Number of regions per subscription” is also part of this view. Basically it defines the maximum number of regions that can be assigned to the holder of a subscription. The final region assignment is part of the subscription configuration.

None: This option is default and hides the region view. All subscriptions using this option provide an unlimited working area to their subscription holders.

Use for automatic subscription Assigns the article automatically to newly created active users.
Users who signed in by executing the user registration form but also user accounts that have been activated by a SBC administrator get articles assigned that have this options marked.
By default Use for automatic subscription is unchecked.
Transfer remaining quota to next subscription period In case subscription renewal is triggered at a time where the quota limit is not reached, remaining quota will be transferred to the next subscription period. By default this checkbox is unmarked, which means that remaining quota gets lost.
Pricing Article price information shown on the user portal. Currently it is just a string used on the shop panels.
Assign Products to an Article Click on icon on top right of the articles overview “Contained Products” to open the list of all products. Select one single or multiple products and press “Close” to finish the selection. Press “Save & Close” or “Save” to store all entries to the database.
Delete Products from Article Move the slider in column Assigned from “Yes” to “No” to delete a product from the selected article. Press “Save & Close” or “Save” to store the changes to the database.
Assign Sales Organizations to an Article Click on  icon on top right of the articles overview “Select Sales Organizations” to open the list of all Sales Organizations. Select one single or multiple Sales Organizations and press “Close” to finish the selection. Press “Save & Close” or “Save” to store all entries to the database.
Delete Sales Organizations from an Article Flag the checkbox to assign sales Organization and unflag the check box to delete sales organizations from the Articles. Press “Save & Close” or “Save” to store the changes to the database.

SmartRover Integration

SmartNet subscribers have access to a specific functionality which allows designated devices (SmartRovers) to connect to the SmartNet network and be handled via SBC in an exclusive integrated workflow: the SmartRover integration. For this workflow SBC demands additional identification, with respect to a common rover-network connection: this is achieved through certificates. If all the requirements are met, the SmartRover is allowed to get correction data from a SmartNet network.

On SBC, Administrators can handle the SmartRover integration from the Add Article page. By flagging the checkbox “Allow SmartRover Connection” a new tab, “SmartRovers”, will be visible in the Add Article page.

This tab gives access to a dedicated page where SmartRovers certificates can be handled. Certificates are needed so that SBC can check whether the correct SmartRover is getting access to the desired article. Each SmartRover has a Public Key, which is used for authentication by SBC.

Certificates can be uploaded by clicking on the icon in Add Article > SmartRovers. A drag&drop mechanism is supported, as well as file selection via Windows file browser. Administrators have the option to select which SmartRover can connect to each article, e.g. Zeno, Viva, etc.

All certificates uploaded in SBC are displayed in a paginated grid view. The SmartRovers page supports basic functionalities like upload, delete and search. Search is related to all columns displayed in the page, which are:

These pieces of information are directly read from the uploaded certificate and correctly displayed if the certificate is considered valid by the server. Otherwise, an error message will inform that the uploaded certificate is not valid.

Please note that the “Allow SmartRover Connection” checkbox is only available for Leica SmartNet installations.

Regions

Purpose

SBC supports Regions to restrict real-time rover access to pre-defined working areas.

The regional restriction is assigned to an article while creating or modifying an article. The restriction affects all data streams that are configured as RT-Products on the GNSS Spider network server and that are assigned to this article. See also GNSS Spider Products.

Status column: Shows the single icon and a tooltip is displayed on mouse hover that displays the Region type and Region validity in Region Overview.

used to represents the Regional Restriction type.

used to represents the Country Restriction type.

The colour for status icon is applied based on Region Validity as below:

Tooltip will show the below details, each in one line on hover of the icon in Status column:

Creation of Polygons

There are two ways to make regions available in SBC:

The map section while adding a new region is initialized according to your home base defined in the UI Preferences – Maps.

Defined regions, the imported ones as well, are displayed in the regions map view. Existing regions can only be modified by uploading a different KML file or by drawing a new polygon.
